It's a sad situation that one of the ripple effects of deregulation and the Staggers Act of 1980 is having TOO MANY F***ing idiots taking over railroad operations...Tri City RR seems to be another sad situation, now tied up in court for God know how long...this Mike Williams guy, I don't even know him, but on a shipper's level, he certainly hasn't impressed me much. But in the meantime, I have heard from somebody on the WE that scrap prices have climbed quite considerably...in so much as this gentlemen is jumping on the bandwagon to scrap damaged cars that have been sitting for quite some time. I'm retired, not my circus, not my fricken animals...but this industry in my lifetime...if you can't make money as a truckdriver right now, there's something wrong with you personally, because the railroads have given you now 40 years of potential!!!...and I damn well think I could have more retirement money as a retired truck driver than I did coming off a damn shortline operation because UP couldn't keep me working 30 years ago.
