I was breaking in 3rd Trick with an experienced operator at Burbank Junction and nervously typed a train order with something like "NO 836 OF (todays date) IS ANNULLED." I hung the orders on the delivery post for a Gemco hauler and later watched as the head end crew grabbed their orders. The caboose went by with no one standing on the steps and around the curve and off into the distance they went. I had been instructed that both the head end and rear end must receive copies of their orders and figured we would have to call the train to stop and back up. The regular operator told me not to worry about it - the crew was probably asleep.
