You guys never give up. Being furloughed or “layed off” is just part of a Railroad career you need to deal with until your seniority will allow you full time employment. Everyone that hires out knows this can happen in all the crafts. Very few new hires have been lucky enough to have not been furloughed sometime in their career. Many don’t return when the recall notices go out. Most, if not all of the Steam shop team hold their seniority and can return to their craft. Dream on, but Ed Dickens isn’t going anywhere. He’s a company officer and worst case senerio, he would go back on his seniority as an engineer in Denver. Not going to happen. Be thankful the UP doesen’t just @#$%& can the entire program. Seems to me that some here kind of wish that would happen. Let’s hope not.
