....And "30" minutes of siding time goes to Lenwood, our winner! Here's another one, but it's probably due to a reduction in the switch condition: At the approach signal to East Empire on the Stockton Sub, Westbound, you'll often get a Yellow over Flashing Green (Approach Limited), which in summary means prepare to pass on diverging route not exceeding 60 mph...but the switch is timetabled for 50! It's been that way for at least 15 years. Better get it down!
As far as that Red over Red over F'ing Red, we all pretty much wondered about it. After breaking out our track charts, arguing for a few minutes about the multitude of Restricting Aspects, and of the possibilities and intent of the Desert Yard TM, we figured that was the correct line-up and it would lead us where we wanted to go unless we diverted again.
None of us had made more than two or three trips this way and were denied a pilot because our Engineer had made one trip. Although the remainder of the trip was uneventful, in retrospect it probably wouldn't have hurt too much to have asked. But then, the Yardmaster would probably keep to the safe side and reply "Signal indication, over!" or "You guys are killing me!"
