The first of the 1948 "Big Tens", #1006 seen in "L" line service June of 1980 on the Duboce St. shoo-fly which would later become the yard used by the Market St. Railway preservation group.
Emerging from the tunnel is #1251 one of MUNI's new fleet of LRV's built by Boeing as part of the program to convert the aero-space industry to more useful products. These were properly called the "United States Standard Light Rail Vehicle" which was, in fact, a major failure and were replaced twenty years later. #1006 survives awaiting restoration and is currently stored at a MUNI facility off Army St.
