Well, I hope all of you folks who voted for Christina are happy. The State has a budget deficit of 6 Billion this year, which will only get larger as the economy continues to slump.
She wants to spend 8 billion on a mile long tunnel under Seattle... That will grow to 16 billion, then 32 billion and maybe 64 billion by the time it's down, with the problems of drilling a tunnel underwater (yes, it's on land, but it's also going to be underwater at that location, and that Swiss Cheese seawall doesn't stop Puget Sound from leaking into the ground...)
Here's some questions we need to ask!
1) Do we really need a $20 billion dollar tunnel?
2) Are there any other alternatives?
3) How much will this cost me in taxes?
4) Why is Interestate 5 only 2 lanes wide in downtown Seattle? Don't let them BS you that its' due to the convention center, there's plenty of room, they just waste it on off ramps and on ramps...
5) How much light rail can we build for $20B
6) Would $20B pay for high speed trains between Seattle and Vancouver BC and Portland, OR?
7) Has she read the financial section of the newspaper in the last 6 months?
8) Are we all really this stupid?
