In that discussion, people who bought Tesla's complain about "rail dust" (steel/iron dust) contaminating the finish of their new cars. One poster said, "Ferrex is better than Iron X but it will get that rail dust off your car."
Imagine if your new car was on a train that stalled inside the Cascade Tunnel, and the sh*t ton of diesel soot and corrosive residue that would contaminate the vehicle.
In Elon Musk's dreams, the cars would be programmed to drive themselves from factory to new owner. Or perhaps be delivered by driverless Tesla truck from factory to dealer.
