When I hired out, there were only one or two nozzles allowed to fill a unit. One of them was really stupid. You would sit and watch gauges that didn't work so when it was full, the over flow started gushing diesel. Okay, next motor, same thing. So, you had to wait for a fuel truck, with the right nozzles.

I could go on but there are plenty of "fueling" things down the line. I think it was the late 70s when the SP changed ALL their nozzles to one type.
