Thanks Dr. Z. I believe the OTR continued to switch the Oakland Outer Harbor from Albers north using the Maritime St. lead and tracks after WWII. To get to the Maritime St. lead they would have had to go west and then head back east through the Army Base curving south. That yard to the left of the IER overpass was the Army's Baldwin Yard and the interchange with the OT.
I saw that Army Base connection to the SP on the west end of Desert Yard.
OPRRMS, I see what you're talking about. Between the highway overpass and where the dark ballast ends in the photo there's a road crossing that's lighter colored and north of that there are tracks in lighter ballast leading under the overpass.
