I tried researching that last night and didn't find out anything more than what you just posted other than it is a space for events such as wedding receptions.

However, I just learned the following:

A drive-in theatrical art performance, "Binding Ties: The 16th Street Station" is being held at the station. It is about the railroad workers and the community in the station areas.
Apparently, it sold out enough that the performance period has been extended through this week.
