Maybe it's just me?
If I remember right, respect was something you "earned".... That's when you've learn to pay your dues, learn your craft, and even , have to take the hard courses, if you expected to actually learn anything with diligence and competence. It's something you also have to earn, when, if you've been raised right, or had the epiphany, through behaving with honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, and decency, because your live by those values... Of course some folks call me old fashioned, and "boomer"....
Mostly, I find that there are still plenty of folks from every generation who follow that standard, and seem to do okay, and others who don't, with varying results....
Unfortunately, appreciation for this sort of whining, having nothing whatsoever to do with trains, isn't fading on AP...
