Yeah, I have always been really impressed in my career with the due diligence shown by carriers, especially when cutting costs and foregoing maintenance.
And, we've never ever seen any problems that resulted in dead crews and/or the public from railroads cutting corners to save money by not following rules, or by deferring RR maintenance, to boost a quarterly earnings report....
Thus, we definitely don't want that evil jack booted "gubmint" of ours, or that evil FRA, looking out to make sure that people are actually complying with the laws to protect RR workers and the public. After all that hands off approach and self regulation have always worked so well in the past, as we can all plainly see by the completely spotless and perfect safety record of RR's....
So, I'm glad to see that we now have your word on how well the carriers inspect and maintain railroad bridges, right...?
