I wish I could tell you that you're wrong. But, given the nine lives of the "runaway money train", I can't guarantee they'll do much.
On the other hand, this project has lost so much trust and support in the legislature, and among Sou Cal dems, due to the cost overruns that now endanger their funding commitments, to, other projects that have serious political and public support, especially in Sou Cal, that there is a growing chorus to force them to make good on those commitments. And, the "latest" so-called "Business Plan" really looks no different in it's dubious underlying assumptions, and does nothing to control cost overruns.
The notice I recieved about this came from supporters of this clusterf##k, who were trying to rally supporters, because they got so many bad comments on their latest fantasy business plan. Which indicates that they seem to think that they now needed to spend our taxpayer PR dollars to rally people to "lobby" this hearing for their cause.
So, it still might be an interesting hearing ("interesting hearing" may sound like an oxymoron...but, only as compared to watching "grass grow").....
