Obviously, this is the first public step. There's a long process ahead. But this will almost certainly trigger the last phase of big mergers. It's also the most obvious "next" merger.

So (potentially) another pair of ancient road names bites the dust. I'm not so sure about the name chosen for the merged line - what has always seemed more likely was simply CP as the surviving partner. Again, this is just the first public step; much more to come.
