I don't know him, but from the opening lines I like him. Saving old buildings gives a city character. City councils generally favor development over historic preservation because, 1) the council members come from real estate development backgrounds, 2) development brings in tax money to the city. We need more champions for historic preservation in some old cities like El Paso.
