The smoke from hotboxes and hot wheels has the same source: hot/burning journal oil. In the pic, smoke is coming from both trucks, and there are no flames emanating from any of the journals, so it's a case of dragging brakes. Friction from the brake shoes has heated the wheels to the point where the accumulation of journal oil on the wheel plates has started smoking. What has caused the brakes to drag, an improperly operating AB valve, a retainer in the up position, or a partially applied handbrake, is anyone's guess.
