Paper mill in NE Wash. to get new life
A newsprint mill in Usk, Wash. has a new owner and the mill will supposedly be re-tooled from newsprint to cardboard.
The mill used to ship by rail. There are numerous rail spurs within the complex. So there is reason to hope for train action to return there.
"SPOKANE, Wash. — The Ponderay Newsprint Company will be sold to Allrise, which plans to resume operations of the paper facility in the town of Usk."
...
"...Allrise will be restarting paper mill operations 'with an aim to repurpose selected portions of the paper mill into an Old, Corrugated Cardboard paper production facility.'"
