UP 830 - grit & grime

A website tells me 830 was a class FEF-2 (sister to 833 preserved in Ogden).

Date given is the 1960's. Piston rod is gone, so ready to be dismantled.

These were bumped from passenger to freight by diesels. Obviously they got dirty in freight service.

Hot Water: Is the white staining all over just from the water minerals?
