These have been mentioned before in AP, usually in comments. CAHSR (if it ever gets completed far enough to make connections to major airports like SFO) could do this from inland checkin points like Fresno and Bakersfield, reducing the need for short-distance air travel as part of a longer trip. Really, the principle is similar to Amtrak's Thruway bus arrangements to extend the service reach of conventional regional (especially) trains.
