Pilot is easy.

I would have been qualified on the territory AND be qualified passenger. Back then you had to have over 610 days freight service (timeslips) before you would be qualified.

"Of the 610 days required, not to exceed 5 days in yard service in any month shall accrue to credit of an engineer while assigned to an extra list of an engineer, not to exceed 40 days worked in yard service."

My guess is those rules are long gone the way the UP runs things. This was back in the 70s, 80s & 90s.

There were sometimes, the RFE would run me around an engineer who wasn't qualified. I did have a little steam under my belt (not like Mac, that's for sure), but I did enjoy that.
