There is PPE. Safety glasses and gloves is all Amtrak requires aside from specific situations where hearing protection is required. This was not one of them.

It’s iffy. When you’re directing a move and handling the equipment sometimes there is no other option. Sometimes there are HEP cables and other tripping items outside the gauge at platforms. Besides, she never crossed in front of either drawbar. I suppose she could have walked on the platform, but that would entail getting closer to the crazy foamer with the camera.

You can clearly hear her confirm “Three Point” with the engineer before she went in between.

Not required when making air, for obvious reasons. Again, she never crossed in front of the drawbar, so she wasn’t technically “in between.”

Steel toed boots are not required. When equipment as heavy as choo-choo train things fall on or roll over your foot, it’s a lot better to have them smashed rather than sliced off from the steel toe. If it’s smashed, at least it can be salvaged at the hospital. Not so much when the smashed steel toe has sliced your toes off like a knife. The leggings are defiantly a violation, but everybody seems so infatuated by this woman trainman, it should be forgiven.
Since they tied down the engine, I get a sense this was their last move of the day and the other trainman was planning to do the work, but didn’t want to deal with the crazy pervert with the camera, so she had the other trainman do it, who had already changed out of her pants.
