You're very welcome. Took some digging myself to figure out that translation worked best in an extension.

As for railroads that didn't happen, the 1906 earthquake did that to a lot of lines in California and the nearby West. Including some lines that did happen, but never got finished due at least in part to earthquake-related financial disruptions, such as the Ocean Shore.
