What a cop-out.

You have said at least twice that you, an SP engineer, piloted Amtrak trains between KFS and Bieber, which is not the SP. How did you get qualified to do so?

For an SP RFE to qualify an SP employee on a line, he had to be qualified on that line himself, and the owner of a foreign line (like the BNSF) had to agree that said employee could be authorized to qualify SP people on its line. The only problem is that the SP never detoured trains over the inside gateway often enough to make it worth its while to invest the time and money to pay RFEs to get qualified on the line. Mind you, your time working out of Duns and KFS was several years after the SP started it's policy of "make a trip once every six months over a line or you need a pilot".

All your other territorial qualifications are completely beside the point.

For those not familiar with the geography, the SP goes around the north and west sides of Mt. Shasta; the Inside Gateway goes around the east side. After leaving KFS (on the BNSF) Westbound (now southbound on the UP), the first place the SP comes close to the WP (UP) is Binney Jct, and at the time Nudge is talking about, it was little more than a diamond where two RR tracks cross.
