Except it is still faster for China max inbound to ship to LA/LB and rail east.

The chinese funded expansion of the canal has not been rainbows and unicorns. The gulf and east also need to dredge and upgrade cranes.

Not to mention with the single well restrictions, the hub system is not going anywhere until china bombs us back to the 1700s!
