Where are you at? You want to pick a trucker that is close to you. They will probably charge you a dead-head fee from their location to your site, cost of trucking and dead-head back to their home. This is negotiable but expect them to get something for their time and mileage.
You can save a lot of money if you can do a Roll-On, Roll-Off move. Some truckers have drop neck gooseneck trailers set up with rails on them. In Niles Canyon we used Taylor Heavy Hauling from Roseville, CA. They had a trailer with small profile rail and extension rails that bolted on to bring you down to track level. All you need is a place on each end where the rails are in pavement or dirt where a truck can maneuver in line with the tracks.
If you can't load that way and have to use a crane then look for someone local that can do the job. Remember that you have the cost for a crane on both ends plus the trucking cost. You may need two trucks. One for hauling the railcar trucks and one to haul the body. One of the advantages of doing the move this way is the caboose can be lower on the trailer. This will help the routing - it's amazing how many low bridges there are.
