I was at the WPRM one day when it was running. The museum members near me were making snide remarks about the steam guys. I clearly got the impression that they didn't like the locomotive. At the time the WPRM was really making a name for itself in acquiring ex-WP diesels so I think it was a "Diesel guys vs Steam guys" thing. I wonder if attitudes like that contributed to it leaving.
