Since the Stockton bore is deep to go under BART it seems a Geary Muni Metro underground could fit on top at Geary & Stockton and then proceed across Market at the mezzanine level. I think you might have to do just one station serving Market and Geary with walkways.

But trolley buses could be deployed relatively quickly on Geary. I suggest the tacit issue here, both with trolley coaches and a Muni Metro on Geary is that SPUR et al want to destroy Presidio Yard.
