I had an ex-WP M-14 and it had a hinged windshield. Not sure why it had the hinge. It wasn't easy to drop. I would of had to unbolt the angle brackets to allow it to drop. My headlight was also centered between the panes of glass which prevented it from folding. So I never dropped it down.

My sheet metal was to the outside of the frame instead of inside like this one was.
