When Canpotex began running trains in excess of 180 cars to Portland a couple of years ago, they had to be broken into two halves for unloading. This summer, they completed expansion and reconfiguration of the terminal's tracks to allow 188-car trains to remain intact during unloading, and to allow as many as three trains on site at a time. It's my understanding that the UP/CP power gets removed, and the terminal's own power handles the staging and unloading process.
