You are not looking in the right place.
The exhaust steam injector overflow pipe is located behind the #2 cylinder on the left side of the locomotive
If you look at videos of the date in question you will see hundreds of gallons of water coming out of that pipe all day long, without the fireman even noticing. Which is 100% inexcusable.
They should have quit screwing with that injector and started using the injector on the right side. If there was a problem with that injector as well, then they were in blatant violation of FRA rules.
