The troll alarm is going off again . . .

As long as they are mailed to registered voters, what's the problem? If you have registered as a permanent mail-in ballot voter, your name doesn't even appear on the approved list at any place set up for walk-in voting. Each county checks mail-in ballots for signatures and dual voting, and if you are listed as voting in person, your mail ballot will be rejected. My main-in ballot (Calif) warned that voting twice is a felony. Carping about mail-in balloting, which "absentee voting" under a new name, is really childish and petty. Are you trying to tell US servicemen they can't vote when they're overseas?

That LA Times article specifically mentions that the mail-in ballots were stolen from the US mail, so there's not a lot the perp could do with them.

The conclusions drawn, or that we are supposed to reach, in that northwest.com article are rather tenuous and weak at best.
