Hours of Service question

I have a question in regards to working in Class 1 RR service and working with this new hours of service. If a Conductor works 12 hours a day for like 4 hours with 10 hours off as required, does he legally allowed to work for another 2 more days, which will be 6 days , that would be then a required 48 mandatory off?? Maybe not if the RR jerk the hours and days a bit?? is that all legal?

4 days on 1 day off? or 5 days on and 24 off?
