45 years ago the city of Eureka, CA, missed the boat by not buying 3 or so Porto cars and relaying a loop through "Old Town" for the Bicentennial. Instead they opted for traffic islands, trees, brick intersections and the cheap version of victorian street lighting. They could have had an enduring tourist attraction in a town that once boasted 14 miles of streetcar lines.
