And, Linda Parks is being the "drama queen" on the Commission (again..???) by stirring the "dramatic" pot on this, too....? This example is a perfect microcosm of Ventura County's strangley "contorted", and all too often, "personality" driven transportation politics...
It sure looks like pure political theater, and sour grapes are a happy match, on this one......
Yep, this is just some last minute pure bs, as the article makes clear. The VCTC owns the line, not the lessee. And, with the late additional provision, to which Sierra apparently agree's publicly, it would trigger the additional clause concerning eminent domain. Thereby voiding lessee's agreement to operate the line. It's a pretty serious "poison pill" blocking Sierra's use of emininent domain, and/or creating costly litigation for the lessee to defend it's lease.
So I'll take your bet on sour grapes, and raise you several grandstanding politicians....
So, some of the folks who I know on AP, who live up that way, might want to help point this out, to their respective VCTC Commissioner, before next Thursday....?
