So you're claimig that at some point actual adults at Amtrak west were somehow allowed to make a decision and respond, with some actual borrowed equipment, during a holiday emergency, to move those stranded passengers and actually treat these folks like valued "customers"? What are they possibly thinking?

Now, that's what I find to be one of the most impressive thing I've heard lately, in this new day and age of lame excuse making and "not my job" finger pointing we usually seem to see, all too often....

Stories like that might well undo my many years of my well honed and perfected cynicism, at the level of "diabled" leadership and the "art" of indecision making, to which so many institutions have descended to in many such circumstances...

Things like this could start a dangerous trend toward competence, responsibility, and autonomy by rank and file managers, that will simply not be permitted nor tolerated by the corporate management of the Class One carriers.
