That is almost 140 miles. Note that it can run and charge from catenary. So you only need wire near stations. The heavy current required for acceleration doesn't have to be provided by the batteries and you can charge while stopped and during the slowest part of the journey when you are spending the most time per length of wire. This three car unit should fit in the SMART stations too, without blocking streets. A nice compromise for a certain gentleman's wishes.
