Lots of questions come to mind. Is BNSF's hi line at capacity?How many trains run BNSF"s hi line vs MRL? Is MRL at or near capacity? How much longer does it take for a train to travel Sandpoint to points east on MRL? What about comparable siding lengths on BNSF vs MRL? Are there more crew change points on MRL vs BNSF for the same travel distance? Could BNSF increase the length of trains on MRL or are trains at their limits now? Was MRL a cash cow at BNSF's expense? What has changed that BNSF would take back this trackage and why now?
