And what safeguards would those be? If people are hellbent on writing comments with obscene subject matter, I suppose David can either temporarily or permanently suspend people from making posts from their home computers after the ISP number has been identified, but what's to keep that person from going across town and using another computer? Apparently the only solution is to upgrade the software to where everyone would have a sign-on name and password (one more password to memorize). Only the owner and operator of the board can determine whether he wants to make such an upgrade.

What's sad is that, even though all of us are theoretically mature adults, some people can't help themselves in writing obscene comments, thinking they're "cute" or "funny". Making comments by hijacking someone else's identity and fraudulently posting material with their screen name is also a very immature and diabolical form of behavior but, sadly, there have been countless examples of that.

Perhaps we can "self police" each other re our behavior after the truly "bad apples" have been removed and permanently banned. I could be mistaken, but you don't come across as the type of person who would pollute a discussion thread with constant mentions of black dildos and other obscene references.
