Biden's Infrastructure Plan

Biden's Infrastructure package promised changes for Amtrak out west. I started getting excited that the old Phoenix line might come back.

Then reality set it. Politicians started twisting "infrastructure" to mean just about anything so that they could get some money from that pot.

Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand: "Paid leave is infrastructure. Child care is infrastructure. Caregiving is infrastructure."

So were Biden's Amtrak announcements just smoke, and was the money stolen by politicians for pet projects?

Will Phoenix and Las Vegas ever get an Amtrak train? Or just a thru-way bus with an Amtrak sticker on it?
