Sad to say, it's the world we live in. It shouldn't be ignored or swept under the carpet just because it's not a discussion about the Turquoise Room on the Super Chief or why UP got rid of the gas turbines. If one looks hard enough, there's always a "linkage" to railroads. As the original poster mentioned, CSX serves both of the towns where those woke, perverted happenings are taking place at taxpayer-supported public schools.

> I guess Altamont Press is not the place to find intelligent/informed commentary . . .

No, that disappeared a long time ago when the clown who likes to post links leading the viewer to YouTube videos that chant "You are an idiot" or has sound effects of cows mooing decided to add his two cents.

I remember a conversation on here about a year ago where everyone swore that they were going to go to great lengths to ignore what they perceived to be "trouble makers" who were posting content they didn't like. They said they were going to "scroll on past" those discussion threads and not make incendiary contributions to them.

Boy, it's painfully obvious that that new policy has taken off like a lead balloon. These people are just like crack addicts. They have to make contributions to those discussions whether they want to or not! I think there's some people here who really enjoy all of these unconventional discussion threads just so they can make a contribution to it where they can talk about dildos, voices in people's heads, the scraggley beard of a friend of David Curlee and perverse sex acts, among other topics. They also LOVE to perform armchair psychoanalysis and pass judgement on people they are convinced are crazy with a wonderment on whether or not those individuals are taking medication. Another popular activity here is to make posts under assumed names, where they're misrepresenting themselves and pretending to be someone else. This mythical character named "Trigger" is a very popular target and it seems like everybody and his brother likes to post weird stuff under that moniker.

> on whether the Staggers Act of 1980 a had positive or negative affect on rail transportation in the United States.

That depends on whom you ask. Shippers feel they're being price-gouged by the railroads and they would like a return to the pre-Staggers days where the ICC determined rates and other things. The problem was that the ICC hit the railroads with so much regulation that it lead to the deaths of railroads like the Rock Island and the Milwaukee Road. Where there was once too much regulation, it appears the pendulum has swung too far in the opposite direction and now there is too little regulation. It will be interesting to see if the STB has any regulatory power to do much of anything besides wipe its behind.
