I don't understand how HSR can share operation with Caltrain without extra passing tracks. Just doesn't make sense, even as explained. Shortsighted. But then, by the time HSR actually threatens to build anything in the vicinity, it probably won't matter anyway.

Also, this and the SJ-Merced document a little while ago, leave me head-scratching about true high speed vs grade crossings. One would think that above 110 mph (if not 90) the line would need to be fully grade separated.
