Don't know if these rail relocates qualify, BUT, back in the early 60's the Sacramento Northern designed and mapped out a new mainline between SAXON and SACRAMENTO because of the Deep Water Ship Channel Project. The Lisbon Trestle was going to be removed, The new line would have paralleled the ship channel on the West side, but at the last moment, the SN opted for trackage rights over the SP instead..
Also, during construction of the Oroville Dam, the creation of the "Thermolito Afterbay" caused the Sacramento Northern mainline to be severed again, and I believe that trackage rights were again used over another carrier.
