Steam Groups and Host Railroads

This came up in discussion the other day and it’s an interesting topic.. Steam groups pissing off host railroads. I know the 819 group pissed off UP by refusing their “yankee oil” and rudely turning down an offer to doublehead with 844. I’ve also heard mumblings of multiple offenses of SBRHS pissing off both the Santa Fe and BNSF by demanding Santa Fe run the 3751 and also for insurance reasons. Can anyone confirm these and perhaps add some more tales?
