For some rail industry word association, if you say "has been" Ross Rowland comes to my mind before anyone else. It's pretty hilarious watching him tell a bunch of actual railroaders they need to "take what they can get" with that sweetheart TA that was handed to them.

In the case of that post, "steam preservation" = Ross. Thankfully, Mr. Hart was wise enough to give his money to something that may actually benefit society, instead of flushing money down Ross' latest "let's refurbish a train with anyone's money but mine" project.

Ross called Ed Ellis a "visionary" more times than I can count. The only vision I have for those two is they both be locked up in a flophouse together during a Syracuse winter with a restraining order prohibiting either of them from getting within a mile of a railroad, active or abandoned.
