How Mexican police reacted when an SD&AE train collided with an auto in Mexico in 1983:

"Kyle’s trains were fired on in Mexico (which is not uncommon in the U.S.), and the crew was arrested in early 1983 when the train hit a car that was sitting on the tracks. The Mexican police hauled the crewmen to jail, and the train was left untended."
