Former Mount Hood owner Iowa Pacific pledged most if not all of the MH passenger car fleet as security for several large loans, when IP defaulted the creditors seized those assets and sold them. That’s how the two MH locomotives ended up in Colorado and this passenger car on Oregon Coast Scenic, and yes, they did buy it. The current MH appears to be using a number of the former MH cars shown as sold on Ozark Mountain, what I don’t know is if the new MH bought them or otherwise is leasing them from whoever did buy them.
