while I don't know the details of the Mount Hood Railroad / Hood River Railroad rail fleet, I do know the new owner and he has some great plans to preserve and enhance the operation. While Hood River to Pine Grove are the current plans, he also on a longer-term plans to run from Pine Grove to Parkdale (end of track). Pine Grove is the center of his other operation, The Fruit Company, with a nice museum in a former very large AGA packing plant. In his opinion the Hood River to Parkdale run is tooooo long for his audience.

In my opinion the MHRR/HRRR was saved from the grim scrapper a SECOND time as he continues to work to unravel the railroad from the Ellis mess.
