> How do the Swiss afford to have beautiful, and perhaps lightly patronized electric trains like this one? My fertile imagination wonders if it is because Swiss banks are where Billionaires park their cash, which the banks in turn lend? That and selling fancy watches ?
In Switzerland, the railroads are government owned and the services they provide are viewed as social services. No one cares whether the railroads operate at a profit or loss.
To compare it to something here in the U.S.A., here we "invest" taxpayer dollars in things like Drag Queen Story Hour at taxpayer-subsidized public libraries so that our youth can be brainwashed into questioning their gender and sexual preferences. We also use taxpayer dollars to prop up Planned Parenthood clinics so that young women*** can murder their unborn babies. Some clinics will also perform the abortions in the ninth month.
Like the Swiss Railways, these are viewed as social services. Banks will find various ways to invest their money but I doubt if they invest in Swiss railways. American banks like to invest in tobacco companies via mutual funds and companies involved in deforestation, as was explained in the movie "Planet of the Humans".
*** According to The Left and Katanji Brown Jackson, men can apparently get pregnant now, so the Planned Parenthood clinics probably feature gender-neutral restrooms.
