That's a silly comment. One can access so many more places by automobiles than by transit.

You're not spending a lot of effort looking for what transit advocates do.

Lastly apart from the shootings mentioned by Commenter, deaths due to automobile crashes, including automobile violence against pedestrians have shot up since the onset of the pandemic.
