Yeah. I enjoyed that. Funny thing about mergers and competition. Weyerhaeuser is on an S.P. line, yet S.P can't guarantee Weyerhaeuser to get that car to Chicago in five days, so the goods get put on trucks to a transload facility and shipped on the BN. U.P. could have handled it, but maybe since that would mean a conection with the C&NW, far to long dwell time in Femont, Nebraska maybe, but they would be the logical competitor to BN. But if they can't compete nor with S.P. how could the ICC approve such a merger, when there isn't any true compitition. Me thinks a better merger should have been, G.N. with CB&Q and N.P. with Rock Island. I think The Rock went to Minneapolis and they go to Chicago fairly directly. Milwaukee Road? They should have never spent their hard earned money to go to the far west. Ha-rumph, LOL.
